East Africa Television (EATV) is East Africa’s
only free-to-air 24-hour pure entertainment television
channel.
When launched in 2002, EATV signaled the dawning
of a new era in entertainment and pioneered
a new wave of thinking that is regional, rather
than just local. As a keen supporter of the
region's growing music and entertainment industries,
EATV and its partner station, East Africa Radio,
have been instrumental in exposing local talent
on a regional level.
EATV programming incorporates a wide scope
of entertainment that reaches beyond music to
include quality movies, talk shows, celebrity
interviews, lifestyle shows, and sports news.
In keeping with the station’s progressive
approach to the industry, EATV offers viewers
a dynamic viewing experiencing with concepts
such as high audience interaction and live programming.
Broadcasting from Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam,
Tanzania, EATV transmits within a 60 KM radius
of Dar es Salaam and to Zanzibar and Bagamoyo.
Other regions in Tanzania watch the station
through cable networks.Through satellite transmission,
EATV beams into homes in Nairobi, Kenya and
Kampala, Uganda within a 60 KM radius of each
city.
